Student Nutrition

About Us

Illini Bluffs #327 participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. We are dedicated to feeding students nutritious, balanced meals based on the USDA Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. We offer low-fat and fat-free milk, whole grain-rich products, and a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables daily.

Program Update - Summer of 2022

The federal program that has allowed school districts across the country to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students regardless of income expired on June 30, 2022. Since 2020, this program has eliminated the need to collect payments for school meals for any student. On June 25, 2022, the Keep Kids Fed Act was passed by Congress and signed into law; however, the bill did not include the program to allow free meals for all students. As a result, families will need to complete an application to determine if their household is eligible for free or reduced-price school meals, as was done before the pandemic.

2022-2023 Breakfast/Lunch Prices

ES/MS/HS Student Breakfast $2.10
ES Student Lunch $2.70
MS/HS Student Lunch $2.95
Adult Breakfast $2.45
Adult Lunch $3.45

Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was instituted to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer months when school is not in session. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Currently, Illini Bluffs #327 does not particpate in the SFSP; however, below is a link to an interactive map showing approved sites in communities across the country can serve meals to kids up to age 18 at no cost.
