At the May meeting, the Illini Bluffs #327 school board unanimously approved hiring Mr. Jeremy Ball as the next middle school principal. Jeremy replaces Mr. Dimitri Almasi, who is moving to the high school as principal.
Jeremy is currently the assistant principal for Canton High School, a position he has held for two years. Jeremy got his start at Abingdon-Avon CUSD #276 where he was a middle school special education teacher for 6 years. He also spent 1 year in Knoxville CUSD #202 as a Junior High Social Studies teacher. Jeremy has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies from Eastern Illinois University as well as a Bachelor of Science Special Education endorsement from the University of St. Francis. Additionally, Jeremy obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University. Jeremy graduated from Canton High School in 2006 and currently resides in Canton with his wife Ashley and their four children, Parker, Luke, Ayda, and Asher.
When talking about his new position, Jeremy said "I am excited and honored to be chosen to represent IBMS as the next principal. Illini Bluffs is a great school district and I am humbled to be joining an amazing group of educators who put students first. One of the many positives that allured me to Illini Bluffs was a community that is known to be passionate about their district. I plan to build upon those positive relationships and earn trust through my actions. In partnering with students and staff, my goal is to create an environment where everyone feels supported, celebrated, and proud to be a tiger!"
