My name is Katrina Craven, and it is a privilege to serve as principal in a community where I am proud to work and where my husband and I are raising our family. We have three daughters, each attending one of the Illini Bluffs schools—high, middle, and elementary.
My career in education began in 2005, and I have been fortunate to serve in various roles that have shaped my dedication to supporting students, staff, and families. I started as a preschool teacher and then worked as a paraprofessional in a special education program for students with severe and profound needs. From there, I became a special education teacher and later a special education administrator, and now I am thrilled to serve as principal at Illini Bluffs Elementary. I am proud to have served in the Illini Bluffs School District for eleven of my years in education.
At Illini Bluffs Elementary, we work to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where each child can thrive. My goal is not only to foster academic growth but also to help students develop strong character traits that will support their future success. I believe in building a strong foundation and self-confidence in every student so they can achieve their unique life goals from the moment they begin their journey here at Illini Bluffs Elementary.
There are many ways to stay connected to your child’s educational experience, from staying informed about their progress to getting involved with our various community and PTO events. Thank you for your partnership and commitment to our school community—I look forward to a wonderful year together!
